Dr. Stollak himself is a great supporter of the HR function and his work with undergrads at St. Norbert College prepares the next generation of HR professionals for excellence in HR. His nomination entry included the following:

Merry Lee Lison has been a long-time asset to HR in the state of Wisconsin and the nation. She has more than 25 years of human resources and benefits experience and is SPHR and GPHR certified and certified as a SHRM-SCP.

The HR roles in her career include Manager of Employment & Employee Relations at Northwestern National Insurance Group, VP of HR for Employee Benefit Consultants, Inc., Sr. Director of HR for TRC Global Solutions, Inc., and Director of HR for Godfrey & Kahn.

In addition, she has been a significant volunteer leader with SHRM, including serving on the National College Relations Committee, serving as State Director of WI SHRM, serving on the state conference planning commitee, and was a member of the Board of Directors of the SHRM Foundation.

She also manages to fit in time to serve as an adjunct professor at University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, teaching several HR classes.

She exemplifies the kind of HR career that current students would be wise to emulate.
